First, they establish supplier qualification standards that require distributors and logistics partners to demonstrate validated cold chain capabilities — including documented temperature excursion protocols that specify what happens when a deviation is detected and who bears responsibility for product disposition decisions.

Second, they require temperature monitoring data to accompany every shipment of sensitive products. When a shipment arrives, receiving personnel are trained to review data logger reports before a product is accepted into inventory — not as a formality, but as a genuine gatekeeping function.
